Fuck.
Why in the hell am I putting myself through this? This is day 2 of no caffeine, and day 3 of no pop. I have never forced myself to quit all caffeine like this, and it’s horrible. This crash from lack of caffeine is making me SO freaking tired and disoriented. I’m not doing well at work because I feel exhausted, and I just woke up from a 2 hour nap. I still feel tired, and I’m fighting sleeping more. I want to read, but I don’t know if I can concentrate. I’ve had more water to drink in the last 72 hours than any other 72 hour period in my life. The worst thing I’ve had to drink is orange juice.
I’m trying to eat healthier. If I could, I would drink coffee straight up, but I don’t like the taste, I think it’s disgusting. I have to sweeten it. I can tolerate some teas, but I’m trying to just kick caffeine altogether. Probably the healthiest thing to do. But goddamn, am I miserable right now. I keep wanting to cave, and have just one pop..but I’m not. I keep wondering when this withdrawl period will be over.
Okay, done whining about my shit. I think I’m going to read now.

Moderation is best for me, I can’t quit any one thing completely. More power to you. You can do it!
@Dame_Delirium - I have to, because moderation usually turns into too much :/ And thanks! =]
I don’t know how long I can go without some sort of caffeine in my system. If anything I’ll always have green tea which is significantly less then many other things out there. If you like the fizziness maybe get some club soda and splash in some cran-apple juice or something along those lines.
2 more days of awful and then you’ll start feeling better!!!
2 or three more days and you will never miss it. You can do it.
Proud of you, honey. I know what you mean though, I had to quit drinking soda cold turkey because it was making my gout worse. I’ve had one soda in the last three months and wished I hadn’t (It was the only cold drink in the house, otherwise I’d have had iced tea), because I had a very mild bout of gout two days later. This will be a good thing for you!
If smokers can smoke, how bad can pop really be.
You’ll be fine in a few days.
Wow, caffeine withdrawals can be that bad? I had no idea :-
But keep strong and you can do it!
I’ve found it’s easier to cut back on caffeine if you’re also eating well and getting all the nutrients you need. It kind of lessens the bad feelings of cutting out caffeine. Idk, just something I’ve noticed for myself. =P
Here’s wishing you more strength in the next few days. You can do it!
Ride it out. You will feel SO much better once you’ve kicked it. The difference in mental clarity is staggering. I gave up coffee after drinking about 30 oz/day about a month ago. You can do it!
I can’t imagine dear, but I’m sure you’ll be happy in the end. Water is very good for you too. Drink it after that orange juice and you’ll be happier too.
Keep it up… I know it’s tough but you are on the other side of it now. I would usually give up caffine for Lent… then I gave up Lent.
I prefer my caffine.
Caffeine is inlots of things like chocolate…. I do green tea with a slice of lemon. Antioxidants and lemon helps absorb more… I dont add sugar
