All is not lost
I can’t remember what movie that’s in, but it’s in something..
After a bit of anxiety and freaking out, I have a solution to the problem. I will move down to my mother’s house and work for her selling eBay stuff and work in the office for my step dad. But, only if I don’t get any more unemployment. And if I don’t find a fast job here. Cody said he would help me find a job too. My sister Taylor might move to California, but Rachel and Josh still want to look for a house. But what I truly want, is to grow my business. I need a bigger customer base…so I’m thinking of having another contest to broaden it. I hate working for corporations because I hate everything they stand for. I hate how they treat their employees unless you have a higher ranking in the pecking order. I don’t want to live that way. I want to be in business for myself and work from home, but I need help from everyone in order to do that. I’m not expecting to become rich off of this, but what I do want is to have enough income from it to live comfortably. I know I can do that if I have enough customers. This is really important to me, and I’m constantly thinking of new things I can make, and how I can make them. I’m thinking of glitter in candles and soap…
Anyway, other than that, I have a paper to work on and creating invoices for Savory Scents. People also tell me I should create an order form. Maybe..but that might be difficult because I might not always have the same scents, and I plan on adding different scents. I have about 7 that I’m ordering sample sizes from a new website.
Anything else to update? Not personally, at the moment…just keepin on keepin on. School work, work work, sleep, and eat. Speaking of eat, I’m hungry!!

That is a wonderful idea for your own business. I love the spirit entrepreneurial individuals have.
. . . keep on keeping on…. I like it.
@olwd - Thank you! I’ve been listening to Shark Tank as I’m working on spreadsheets and searching the internet for new ideas..it gives me inspiration!
@vexations - XD
-hugs-
Have you purchased any averts on Facebook? That generally works from what I can tell, I mean, I often look at them and end up clicking and checking things out. I’m not sure how the payment works with it; got to spend money to make money. Again, if I were you, I’d check out local farmer’s markets and try to get in on that action; those are just the people who will want your product.
Maybe if you start doing glitter in the candles, do like cbv and offer a variety of customizeable colors? If I can think of any other ideas, I’ll text you!
I’ll also ask around about what people would want to see in candles and soaps, and see if the ladies where my mom works would be interested! I’ll have her take the ones I’d ordered from you in to work so they can check them out!
good luck with all of that
Do they have such a place there called Flea Marts where you can’t rent a table to sell things for the Holiday time. Good way to make money. Also set up a website and display your things and set up paypal so they can buy online your candles and things. Bro. Doc
that sounds great. I feel the similarly about working for cooperations.
You make the candles, I’ll sell them in NJ, and I get some money off of it. Just please don’t put glitter on them, and I won’t be selling soap, since I see no fault with the soap I find at the stores, but, most candles at stores can be dull, and so I love your idea of different flavors, and I would be glad to introduce them to my community, which is mainly mexicans, but hey, mexicans need candles too right? And since NJ is not free from hurricanes, it’s a perfect place to sell. Hec if I could make candles I would. But unlike you, I can’t make anything, and like you, I wish I had economic independence : (
Don’t you have a website?
I know how you feel. I’ve been trying to start my own business selling the crafts I make.
@Spookyandbatty - *hugs*
@None_May_Have_Her - I don’t know how much that costs, but I’ve heard that advertising on Facebook costs an arm and a leg. I read an article in which someone said it would have cost them $400,000 a year to promote to get the same amount of traffic they had been getting before they changed their algorithms. As far as farmer markets and trade shows and things of that nature, I need to be able to sustain inventory before I can do those kinds of things. Until I get enough profit to grow, I don’t have the luxury of keeping that kind of inventory on hand. Given time and growth, I will certainly do those things.
@freespiritseeker - I’ve definitely been thinking of glitter…I’ve already bought some! I just need it to get here so I can test it out
@godfatherofgreenbay - Thank you =]
@BroDoc - I sell on Etsy and absolutely accept PayPal. I also accept trades and Bitcoin.
@PocketfulOfDreams - Yeah…and I’m far too independent to be able to just do my work, I start to go crazy. I once told management that their idea wouldn’t work, and that didn’t go over very well. And guess what? I was right. It didn’t work for the reasons I said it wouldn’t work. I’m too smart to take crap from those kinds of people and get passed over by higher management.
@RulerofMasons - You can certainly do that…if you buy in bulk I would give some sort of discount so you can re-sell at higher value. I’m not sure what it would be, though.
@CanuckFascist - Yes, I do….
@Shining_Garnet - Yeah, it’s kind of difficult because you need a wide customer base, and that takes time. Of course, there’s word of mouth. Everyone who has bought candles so far give me rave reviews, so that can work to word of mouth advantage.
Actually, I am in need of candles myself, help.
