What A Stupid Decision
So apparently Netflix is trying to get more and more people to use Watch Instant, instead of using DVDs in the mail.
While I understand that this may be more price effective for the company, I don’t think they’re ready to do it. They are now removing the option to add a DVD to your queue from a streaming device, and now only the option is to add it to watch instantly if you have, say, the iPhone app for Netflix.
I don’t believe they are ready for this change for a couple of reasons. First, the movies available to watch instantly. I have 3X more movies on my DVD queue than my watch instantly list. New releases aren’t available to watch instantly. Plus, movies are constantly moving in and out of watch instantly status. As it is, I regularly also use Redbox… so if they want to go to streaming movies without changing the way they do things, I might have to drop Netflix.

Ohhhh lord. My brother and his gf are all about Netflick. I wonder how they are feeling about all this. o_0
That’s not a big problem for us. We usually use our pc to put dvds on our dvd queue, not our ps3. It might for some other people..but not us.
I’m angry with Netflix just for not being available to UK credit card holders.
@RockstarJuiceNStarburst - You live in the UK? There might be a reason why they haven’t gone global.
@KickingSheep - Well, at this point, the change is only for people that browse Netflix from a phone app, so I don’t know.
@Hinase - Me too, I have a PS3, but I browse and search for movies on my computer.
@RockstarJuiceNStarburst - Seriously?? That really blows… what do you use then?
@Hinase - hey what are you implying? =P
I’m sure there is a reason. The same reason, probably, why I can’t view a lot of YouTube videos in Germany. YouTube videos are legal fair game in Germany and the UK too I think. We can download them and rip the mp3 and no one can say anything. So YouTube has blocked pretty much all music videos for us. Sucksville. Hooray for grooveshark.
@crazy2love - it does. Sometimes I get lucky and find movies on movie2k.com. But you can forget finding tv shows. The only option is finding a torrent.
@RockstarJuiceNStarburst - Oh, nothing at all =D
That’s kind of weird that those laws restricts everywhere in one country but not anywhere else, and how the U.S (where I am at) can get away with watching youtube videos all right. And in case in point, I can’t watch BBC videos etc; It’s the same crap with the movie region things..>.>
@crazy2love - Same here. It’s much easier to do that. I think I noticed that awhile back when they changed their layout on netflixs. Not a big fan of the change..
I don’t imagine they’ll be changing my plan to the streaming only now will they?
so you’re saying I’m too late to the netflix party
