You Will Be Famous
Yesterday afternoon I had a meeting with the boss and some other people. After the meeting, my supervisor and the boss were chatting. She has some pencils with quotes on them on her desk. They say things like “Today will be a good day.” She asked me if I wanted a pencil, and gestured to the pencils.
I told her she has to give me one, otherwise it won’t be good luck. So she grabs them and reads them. Hands me a pink one. It says, “You will be famous.” I asked her what she thinks I will be famous for, with a smile. She said, “For writing a book.”
I have never shared any of my fiction writing with her, she’s only seen the emails I write. She was serious about her statement, and believed it. I argued a little, saying I would probably write some books, but I would never be famous. That most writers aren’t famous. She started listing names like J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, Dan Brown, and Danielle Steel. I told her those are the exceptions.
She said, “You’ll be famous.”

You have a person who believes in you, so I say go with it. Let that sentiment fuel your passion to write.

I think you have a different talent with words, I’m a visual writer, you write more of an actual experience rather than the sensations from surroundings. Also, Thank you! <3
I just recently started writing again after putting it off for years. Don’t write to be famous, write because you love it.
This blog proves it well, I think.
I like that.
You will hear “it can’t be done” but you know it can. You will hear “you’re wasting your time” but we know you’re not. You will hear “who will buy that” but we know it will be read by many. You will hear “I LOVE IT! IT’S FABULOUS!” And you will smile cause you knew it was true all the time. <3
You should listen to her. Those writers are the exceptions because they knew what they wanted and went for it. Those writers were once just everyday people, no one knew who they were and now look at them.
If you want to be a famous author, you just have to believe and expect you will make it. I know people and websites say otherwise, but I stopped listening long ago.
People have powerful minds and if we really want something, if we believe in ourselves, then we can achieve it.
I believe in myself and I expect myself to be a famous author with bestselling books.
And I believe in you too

I say go with it. There are plenty of worse things to be famous for.
