On Losing Weight…Advice?
It’s a challenge, changing your lifestyle. Eating out not as often is proving to be easier than I thought, so I’m going good with that. The thing though, is just eating healthier in general. This isn’t to say that I eat all kinds of junk food. I hate most chips, I don’t eat cookies or cake, I don’t really like candy. In fact, I hate most candy. I don’t even really like chocolate anymore.
What I’m talking about is eating more vegetables. Eating things with less calories. I can only eat veggies if I have ranch dressing. I love fruits though, because I love the sweetness of them. I don’t eat a lot of meat, so I take a multi vitamin. I love orange juice, apple juice, and grapefruit juice. I can only drink water if it’s cold. I’m sick of eating the same things every day.
I was drinking one pop every other day. Now I drink one a day, sometimes 2. This is so hard. I’ve found that I actually like working out. I don’t mind running. The only thing is that my feet really hurt sometimes when I run…like REALLY hurt. I guess I need new running shoes? On the days my feet don’t hurt, I actually love to run. If I have good music on, I can get in the zone.
If anyone has any good advice for me, I would really appreciate it!!!

You might need new running shoes, I have a pair of New Balances that are featherweight, that might help. I would drink one can of soda a day and its good you don’t like candy and stuff.
I’d get a pair of lightweight running shoes an Ipod and start running
Well, new shoes for sure. As for soda, just don’t buy it. Then the temptation isn’t there.
WEIGHT WATCHERS! It is my best friend. Seriously, it’s an amazing system. I’m busy at the minute, but I plan to send you a message about my weight loss experience later.
do you like rice?
I have a rice cooker that has a steamer on top. I have rice and steamed vegetables, usually with baked fish or chicken, at least one meal a day.
I’ve lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks, and that’s without any extra dieting or working out.
my advice is to write down everything you eat. Use sparkpeople. Not only does it track calories, but it also tracks nutrients so you can make sure you’re getting the right amount of everything! Bvitamins, iron, calcium, etc.
Fruit smoothies are great. They are very filling, so they’re good as a snack or even part of breakfast, I guess. They’re healthy and keep you going for a while, and that’s rare.
My mum’s dieting rule; eat what you want, but only when you’re hungry. The problem with a lot of people – me first – is you eat when you feel remotely hungry, and that is ALWAYS. So my mum just has breakfast lunch dinner (portions going smaller as you go down, of course, so dinner’s smallest) and cuts down on the oils and fats! She even cooks the same meals, but finds alternative ways to “fry” things.
Learn to like what you don’t like. Some people say you have to try something 20 times before you like it. If that means eating plain broccoli 20 times then so be it. But at the same time, low-cal-low-fat ranch isn’t too bad, and it’s certainly better to use that and get your veggies than to NOT use it and get no veggies at all.
Don’t buy processed foods.
@bethb031409 - I think I should get those shoes with the springy things on the heel, you know what I’m talking about?
@dlmcniel - Ahhh if only it were that easy! My dad buys pop and there’s always some in the fridge :/
@Ampersands_Anonymous - I’ll look forward to reading it!
@KimisBarbie - Not a big fan of rice, but thanks for the thought if I ever get into it!
@ShimmerBodyCream - I actually created an account there about an hour before I posted this! Haha I think it’s great.
@OhItWontBeForever - I try and eat a small snack every couple of hours. It boosts the metabolism.
@cutesycharm - I’m trying. It’s tough. I bought a few groceries today, and nothing unhealthy was in my cart.
@crazy2love - Yeah, I’ve heard those are actually pretty comfortable and good for running.
@crazy2love - It’s really tough. I’ve been trying for a long time and I’m just now getting good at grocery shopping. That doesn’t help with my fast food addiction, but it keeps me in check at home. Keep trying babydoll, its worth it!
