Metal
So, a number of years ago, I discovered metal. As in music. And other music like it…industrial, darkwave, and other sub-genres. I started listening to bands like Cradle of Filth and the Birthday Massacre. I discovered I don’t really like bands where a male vocalist screams. I can handle female screamers, but not males…Hmm.
Anyway, here’s the list of bands that I listen to:

A lot of these I’ve never heard of. I do like Lords of Acid, HIM, and Cradle of Filth. What about Type O. Negative? I think they’re pretty good. Saw them in concert eons ago back when Korn was cool. They may not be classified as Metal, though. I literally listen to EVERYTHING… from Frank Sinatra to Pantera to Fiona Apple to Kenny Chesney… lol! Really. I love it all just about equally.
Well you took both of my suggestions. Within Temptation and Emilie Autumn have a special place in my iTunes.
@the_mamarazzi - I’ll have to listen to Type O Negative…I’ve heard of them, but never heard any of their music. I listen to everything too…everything you listed is in my iTunes! You should check out the rest of them, they’re all pretty good.
@crystal_air - I actually just discovered Within Temptation a few weeks ago, and they are AMAZING! I’ve loved Emilie Autumn for years. She’s amazing too…I would love to see her in concert!
I have a soft spot for Underoath, but I don’t know if that’s strictly metal or if it’s just hardcore screamo. *shrug*
There are too many music subgenres to keep up with these days.
@XxRainyxMondayxX - I agree, there are too many sub genres. I mean, whatever band is heavier than hard rock is what I’m looking for =]
I only know one song by HIM … Wings of a Butterfly. I rather like that song. But I don’t know any of the other bands you’ve listed.
I love Rise Against. They have good music. They’re not hardcore metal though.
I also like Atreyu.
You should give Halestorm a try. They’re not super metally but they’re awesome. She’s got a set of vocal cords on her that are beyond compare.
Halestorm is great.
Paramore is good to but not alot screaming.
Type O Negitive is good to…if you like them try Alice in chains.
Any girls who who likes metal songs are awesome.

Particularly, the Dresden Dolls, are one of my absolute favourite bands.
Plus, I used to adore Jack Off Jill, but it’s been a long time since I’ve listened to them. And I always feel like theres a man with an ax behind me trying to kill me.
And I’ve really liked Emilie Autumn the past couple months, for some reason.
I positively adore the band Metric, but it doesn’t really fit with any of those bands, so I’m not sure why I’m saying that (:
