Is That An Idiot? Or A Moron?
The (non-existant) listening skills of some people astound me. I went to Caribou, and I said, “I would like a medium Turtle Mocha, and that will be all.” He was silent for a few seconds, then he said, “Would you like anything from the bakery today?”
Umm. No. But I WOULD like to kick you in the face.

Poor, pathetic people. That’s all I can say. God bless them!
He might have had tons of things on his mind and didn’t hear you, not that is an excuse, but its a possibility.
Oh man…first off I miss Caribou. That is horrible for listening skills. It reminds me of going to a McDonald’s and they ask if you want fries with your order. I remember one time saying no and the person on the other end asked “Are you sure?” I found out it was one of my students and she recognized my voice. There was another time while in college when I had a craving for fries so I got a couple orders and they asked if I wanted fries with that.
lol there was one time where i got an slushy drink.. and the waitress asked me, “do you want hot or cold??”
umm what
perhaps you’d have thrown your coffee in his face if you didn’t like coffee so much.
he must have been on autopilot.
@Nitzchiya - Hehe.
@sweetlovinlife - This is true..but still =[
@godfatherofgreenbay - I miss Caribou too. I suppose you miss it because there's not one anywhere near you =[ I stopped buying Caribou a long time ago because my money was falling out of my purse...really. I only buy it every once in a great while now =[ Are you sure you don't want fries with that?
@subaru3169 - Haha I agree..what?? lol
@TheBigShowAtUD - I would never throw coffee on anyone. I'm too nice! Haha, yeah, autopilot =]
It is what they are told to say. I have almost given up on saying “that will be all” because 2/3 of the time they ask me if I would like *** to go with that
I work at a Pita Pit, and I’m suppose to at least ask, “Are you sure you don’t want *blank*” here. Sometimes it comes out as, “Anything else for you?”
The fact is, we’re not stupid, we just see a thousand different people a day and… stop caring after about the third, haha.
Don’t be angered by the things the company makes them say.
@trunthepaige - Sometimes I say “that’s all” and sometimes I don’t. It seems that when I don’t say it, there’s like an awkward silence and either I finally say “that’s all” or they say “anything else?” Eh I just can’t win, lol!
@AibellFaeire - @McScarry - I see what you’re saying…but at the same time, they really SHOULD be trained to leave it at that when the person says “that’s all.” I know they want to pressure you into buying more, but if someone says “that’s all,” I’m pretty sure the person has their mind set on what they want, you know? I suppose, people end up ordering more sometimes…I don’t know.
@crazy2love - They do change their minds. A lot. Since I’ve been working there, it’s been about 50% of the time.
@AibellFaeire - We all know why it is done. It’s called “suggestive sales” and they would not train you to do it, if it did not work. Still it is anoying as hell to a lot of us. I know it is your job, so I don’t get mad at you guys about it.
Depends I work in fast food and when the District manager is around we HAVE to ask stupid questions like that.
Customer: ” I’d like the five for five and that would be it.”
Me with district Manger a earshot away: Would you like to add a dollar curly fry or drink?”
Customer: ” NO!”
Just me: “Please pull around’
Customer: “Thank you.”
District Manger: comes out of nowhere ” ALWAYS suggetive sell kt!!”
AHHH!
LOL
But I hear you sometimes I’ll have some moron who after I repeat the order is like….” Huh..I’m sorry…”
This is where Jeti mind power would come in handy…
@AibellFaeire - Yep, it’s true! Sometimes I do change my mind when they ask. Especially when I go to the post office. Always forget to get something.
@trunthepaige - We appreciate it, I can assure you. We hate doing it, too, haha.
