  • Draft

So I had my fantasy football draft yesterday. There are only 8 people on the team, and I had 4th pick, so here are my picks……

    Running Backs
    Matt Forte, Chicago Bears
    Clinton Portis, Washington Redskins
    Ronnie Brown, Miami Dolphins
    Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens

    Wide Receivers
    Andre Johnson, Houston Texans
    Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
    TJ Houshmanzadeh, Seattle Seahawks
    Bernard Berrian, Minnesota Vikings

    Quarterbacks
    Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
    Carson Palmer, Cincinnati Bengals

    Tight Ends
    Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
    Owen Daniels, Houston Texans

    Kickers
    Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots
    Jason Elam, Atlanta Falcons

    Defense
    New York Giants
    New York Jets

I’m PISSED I didn’t get my Minnesota defense. Some jackass took them in the third pick!!!! What the fuck. I wanted first pick so I could get my Adrian Peterson, but that’s okay… Well, I’m pretty happy with my team.

  • You only got MN’s Berrian?  Boooo!

  • i have no idea how fantasy football even works or what it is.

  • @SliverLines - I second that!  I am clueless.  Good luck, tho!

  • Uh-oh…a Vikings fan.

The Giants defense could be a great pick as could the Jets because of their new coach, the defensive guru behind Baltimore for the past few years.

My favoritism will shine forth in this statement…Aaron Rodgers has looked stellar and is making me say “Brett who?”

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - UGH I was looking at your user name and HOPING that it wasn’t in reference to the Packers…. Yes, I am a Vikings fan…and a true fan, since I’ve been with them since I started watching football, which was the season our kicker had a perfect year and we were 15-1. At the time I didn’t know enough about it and too young to understand why everyone was so upset, lol. We will see what happens. I’m personally wondering if Favre has another year in him, as I’ve heard many people say that he is our savior….

  • Well I am not a die-hard Packers fan but Badgers, now that is a different story.  I think the rivalry is overrated.  I still remember one of the news stations, KARE 11 I believe, did an expose about the rivalry and how rude Vikings fans were.  They gave tickets to a family from Sleepy Eye who were Vikings fans but in order to go to the game they had to wear Packers clothes and visibly cheer for the Packers.  They showed them walking to the Metrodome and how Vikings fans would come up from behind and purposefully run into them and push them.  For me it was difficult being a Packer fan and living up in the burbs of Minneapolis.  I once joked that I would have my students wear Packers gear and pose on the Vikings ship in Eden Prairie for my Christmas card.  I respected people’s likes  but I never felt that in return.  I kept my mouth quite during the Booze Cruise on Lake Minnetonka only because I had my own booze cruise and fell in to the healing waters.  I also kept my mouth shut with the Wizzinator scandal only because I thought that one day I would have to use something similar.  I couldn’t say anything bad about the Koren Robinson scandal because the Packers signed him after the Vikings released him.  I also loved seeing the county sherriff talk about his arrest because I taught the sherriff’s son and the court house was next door to a 50s style diner where I hung out.  The only thing I ever really got upset with was when Chris Hovan tried to pick a fight with me in Mankato.

I was at a Walmart here in Wisconsin yesterday and they had Favre vikings gear.  It’s just strange to seem him in that uniform.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - Wow, yeah, I’m not that kind of a fan. I would never be that kind of fan with any sport ever. I only say “ew cheesehead” or the like in jest. It’s just good, clean fun to laugh about. When people get serious about sports rivalries, I think it’s just ridiculous…I mean, it’s just a game! Yeah, the Vikings have had their issues outside the game. I’m not much into sports politics so I’m not sure what all has been going on with these guys. I watch football for the sport (and football is really the only sport I enjoy), and that’s it. It’s entertainment to me, not something to really go off the wall about. I suppose though that even fun jokes and innocent pranks get tiring after awhile. My dad works in Stillwater and he says that a lot shit goes on at work during the football season.

  • I think the problems with their scandals had to do with the previous owner and head coach.  Tice wasn’t much of a disciplinarian.  He was just out there trying to be the players best friend.  I taught at a high school near Mankato and he invited a lot of the local high school coaching staffs to training camp.  When I saw Tice interacting with the players it was like watching high school kids in the hallway.  I had a friend that was a campus security guard at MSU and some of the stuff he encountered was scary especially with what the players tried to get away with on campus during training camp.

  • hey well I hope this has helped <3 i tried to get you 300 credits but, I’m too tired too count lol best of luck

  • @thesexydevilgirl - Wow, thanks! That helped a lot :D

  • @crazy2love - lol did I get you 300?
