  • I was looking up toxic black mold on the internet today…here’s what I found:

These are things that happen when Stachybotrys release myotoxins (poisins):

    • Nasal and sinus congestion

    • Cough

    • Wheezing or other breathing difficulties

    • Sore/hoarse throat

    • Skin and eye irritation

    • Upper respiratory infections, including sinus

Mold is everywhere. More than 100,000 species of mold have been identified in water-damaged buildings across the nation. Of these, over 100 mold species are known to cause a human illness/disease and or response. The most common types of mold that are known to cause a wide array of injuries include Stachybotrys, Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Tricholderma.

Toxic mold exposure can cause indoor air quality problems that result in serious pulmonary, neurological, digestive and skin related illnesses. An individual’s response to mold exposure can be unpredictable. While some people seem to suffer no ill effects from prolonged exposure, others become severely debilitated from only limited exposure. One’s response to exposure is affected by the individual’s own immunities, allergies and sensitivities.

Physical examinations, blood tests, allergy tests and other objective assessments provide information that may be helpful in linking exposure to mold and allergy, inflammatory or other toxic effects that may occur as a result of the exposure. Some mold exposure victims suffer from cognitive impairment secondary to toxic exposure. Neuropsychological testing is helpful to link these related symptoms to the toxins from the mold exposure.

So yeah. I was basically dying in my house because myotoxins are poisin. The amount of mold in the house is far too much to get rid of, way too expensive for the amount. From what I’ve found out, I want my mom to sue the construction company. It took them over a year to build our house, exposing it to a ton of water, which is what helps mold in starting to grow.

  • It sounds like she could have a good case against the construction company.  Even if they have to halt construction for rain, they are supposed to protect the site.

Moldy lungs.  Ick.  I can’t get over it.  Your mother should send you to the Caribbean for a week to clean your lungs out!  :)

  • YUCK! Thats disgusting. Mold is…..::cringes::…gross! lol. Aye. I just poured out so many problems into my xanga just now. HORRIBLE! Ugh. Too  much writing. And the sad part is that it’s not all that bad. People have it so much worse, like you and your ucky, ucky mold. Well I wish you TONS of luck finding a new place to live ASAP!

  • One word. . .YUCK!
