Frickin seriously….I need some help with religious shit
I have to write an essay tonight that’s due tomorrow, and I have no damn clue what I’m supposed to write about. I need one specific example of when a religion has maintained social order, and one example of how religion has facilitated social change. I HAVE NOTHING. I know absolutely nothing of any kind of religious history or anything else….. I am SO frustrated. I’ve been trying to think of this ever since I got the assignment on Thursday….and I can’t think of anything at all
Help?!?! I need examples that I can research.

The English revival during the French Revolution helped keep the the violence there from going to England. Social Change- the abolitionist who were Christians were calling an end to slavery.
I have a lot to learn as well, but the first examples that came to mind were concerning Christianity and Hinduism. Hinduism has maintained the caste system in India for ages. Also, when Christianity came to Ireland, it shook up the old tribal social order and slowly created a unified Ireland. The formerly druid, warrior-class culture became centered on scribal work, translations, learning the Greek classics, and of course, the Bible. It changed their social values top to bottom.
The church during the black plague?
There’s Rome that was united under constantine, and the Muslims that were united under mohammed. googling those should get enough for an essay on.
Christianity preserved civilization from the time Rome fell until the Renaissance.
Charles Martel of France beat back the Muslims at the Battle Tours and save all of Europe from Muslim conquest.
The Spaniards fought for 800 years and finally drove the Muslims out of the Iberian peninsula and back to Africa.
This is personal, my blog about the experience of a good friend. LINK

Early examples of religious established social order can be seen in many ancient civilizations, predominately in Egyptian culture circa 7,000-3,000 BC, and again documented by the Hebrew scribes during the Mosiac period. The precolombian Maya, Aztecs and Incas also imployed religious order as the basis for defining social order.
A brief survey of cultural anthropology would provide you with many other examples from which to choose.
