Spring
Spring is one of my two favorite seasons. The temperature is perfect in Minnesota. A comfortable 60-70 degrees. A Minnesota spring is actually short. It seems that many years spring hops into summer without really being spring. The leaves are just buds one day, and the next they pop into leaves. One day the flowers are barely there, the next day they are in full bloom. After some rain, the grass is green again. It normally isn’t too hot or too cold. It’s perfect.
Thunderstorm season is pretty much upon us. The smell of the ozone as one approaches, and the smell of rain are some of my favorite smells. Watching a storm come in makes me feel a sense of excitement, but also peaceful. The different rumbles and cracks of thunder send thrills down my spine and I love the way lightning lights up the sky with purple and blue jagged lines. Thunderstorms are best at night. I love the sound of rain on the windows, and how it lulls me to sleep. If the rain isn’t slanted towards my window, I open it a crack to better hear the thunder.
Severe storms move fast, and everything else moves slow and lazy. It’s hard to say what’s my favorite. I love the intensity of severe storms, but I love a lingering storm too. Thunderstorms are one of my most favorite things in the world.
Not only does spring bring climate and environmental changes, it’s also kind of like a wake up call from a long winter slumber. We are the bears in the cave, waking up and hungry. Hungry for changes and life. Time to start fresh. The New Year isn’t the real revolution, spring is. It’s when we do our “spring cleaning,” getting rid of the excess. It’s a time of picnics and family gatherings and happiness. Laughter and joy mingle in the clean spring air and we are different for a while.
It’s time for some spring cleaning =]

I agree, Spring is one of my favorites as well next to Fall.
I love, love, love spring! I wish it lasted longer here. It seems that in my neck of the woods you go from a long miserable winter to enjoy a lovely perfect spring for about a month then end up in months of hot miserable summer. It’s lovely today. A little chilly but a sky full of big fluffy white clouds, birds munching away at the feeder right outside my living room window, and green grass already growing in my yard.
Spring is okay because it leads up to my favorite season, summer!
I absolutely live Spring
Hey there, I’m just browsing around and leaving some comments as its always nice to talk to new people. I live just outside of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. I’m currently working and I just finished with school. I’m totally with you on the thunderstorms — I think they are amazing. I live on the coast, and we only get to see lightning twice a year if we are lucky, so unfortunately I don’t get to enjoy them much at all.
And the rare time there is a storm here, its nothing like the storms that other places get. So you are very fortunate to be able to enjoy such awesome storms ! Here we had our Cherry Blossums in full bloom by the middle of February, and now the Willow Trees all have leaves, and flowers are out all over the place, and lots of other greening as well. Spring here is just super rainy, though there are always some sunny and warm days as well.
I think there is something to appreciate in every season really, and each place will have its own special things happen each season. It will be nice to see more people outdoors getting exercise, and just enjoying nature. I’m sure they’ll enjoy that more than all of the cleaning they might have to do ! Anyways, feel free to leave a comment on my site if you like, its great to hear from people. Take care and have a fantastic weekend.

I wish the temperature was like that here. The past couple of days, it’s been in the high 80′s, and I think safe to assume, was at least 90 degrees today when the hottest. It was miserable, and I can’t help but think…OMG Summer is really going to suck, temp wise!
I like storms, too. I hate the severe storms because I was in a tornado a few years back, but I love those that aren’t severe…just thunder and lightning, and good old rain. They really are peaceful. I dread the bad storms. It seems we used to never have tornado warnings, but now, it’s an every year thing, and numerous times a year. People like to think tornadoes are no big deal here, being in the mountains, and that they cannot or will not do damage. Umm…wrong, but many are finding that out. I live on top of a mountain in a small home, so when the weather gets severe, I head to mom’s where there is a basement! :) I’m terrified lol.
Anyway, hope things are well for you.
Spring time in Minnesota is wild. There were numerous times my dorm spent the night in the basement. I am thankful I missed the tornado that destroyed St. Peter.
