Right now I'm slightly unhappy. Why do I always think about a romance that I will never have? I dream too much. It's too bad dreams never become reality. Such is life.

The Truth Is [95]
Well, when I was training in my new job last month, I thought it was going to be pretty easy.
Hmm.
Well, I guess I was wrong.
The last 2 days have been the days from hell.
WTF was I thinking when I accepted this new position?
I'm still being trained, but I am officially in my new position, and it is nowhere near easy. It's hard to explain what I do, but I will just say that there a lot of problems, and solving them is a bitch. It's the most stressful job I have ever had. My hair will start turning gray at 23, no joke, that's how stressful it is. I've worked 40 hours already this week. I will work at least 10 tomorrow, and I will be working Saturday. Depending on how long I stick around Saturday, I will work between 50-60 hours this week. Already I feel emotionally wrecked, so I don't know how long I will last Saturday. Thankfully I get paid hourly, and I'm not on salary.
Anyway, sorry to just talk about work, but it takes over my life. I guess that's why I'm such a valued employee, because I'm so dedicated. I have no interesting or new stories to tell. No humor. I feel drained. It doesn't help I've had a sore throat and a stuffy nose for the last couple days. Ugh. =[
It's kind of funny, because before I started working with them, I sometimes thought these people were slightly crazy, but now I understand. You HAVE to ACT crazy sometimes and laugh like a madman or else we would seriously go insane. -
My Idea [96]
So, I finally submitted my idea for Xanga. Basically, I think we should be able to have our inbox kind of like an email inbox. If you see a post and you've already read it (or don't want to read it), you should be able to "delete" the post from showing up in your inbox again. Even if it's rec'd a hundred more times or timestamped a dozen, you shouldn't have to keep seeing that post over and over again. Another thing I think could improve our inboxes is being able to "save" a post for later. How many times have seen a post you wanted to read, but you don't have time? And how often do you either forget about that post or don't see it again? I know it happens to me all the time, especially if it's a really long, but good post.
I also think we could either have customizable tabs in our inbox, or a tab for just posts. Pulses take up A LOT of room. (Paul_Partisan did a little study a while ago about that...he had some numbers) Don't get me wrong, I think pulses are great for saying short little blurbs, but sometimes they overrun the inbox and posts get lost. That's another thing that bothers me. The pages only go back 10 pages, and anything after that gets "lost."
I think these improvements would be awesome because I don't always have time to sift through everything. I end up missing a lot of really great posts, or miss the initial excitement of a post. I also end up losing a lot of friends because I never visit their blog....but I never visit because I never even see the posts!!
So, I would greatly appreciate it if you would vote (in favor of, of course!) for my idea!

Common Courtesy Is Dead [97]
I'm kind of sick of it. This is Minnesota Nice, for Christ's sake! Where is courtesy these days??
You go shopping, people are rude and selfish.
The cashiers are assholes and bitches.
You might as well talk to a brick wall if you talk to customer service.
When you are driving, people are even more rude.
No one lets the older folks go first because everyone is in too much of a hurry.
No one helps someone who is struggling with something.
No one helps you when you fall.
When I get home at the end of the day, I end being pissed off because people are such assholes.
In other news, the reason I haven't been around lately is because I bought True Blood for $17 at Target, and I'm obsessed!! I think I have 5 episodes left to watch =]
I fell in love with the theme song, I think it's sexy and hot and amazing!!
Also, I haven't been keeping up on my other xanga =[

Embarrassing Friends [99]
I messed up on my countdown to my 1,000th post...oh well.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure everyone has one of those embarrassing friends, right?
Well, I have this friend from high school, let's call him B. He's one of those guys with a raunchy sense of humor and isn't afraid to just blurt shit out. Every year for the last couple years, a group of us get together for a holiday lunch at Applebee's. The first year, we sat there for 3 hours, and the waiters ended up ignoring us because we were just sitting there after we were done eating.
So anyway, there was 8 of us that went out to lunch today, and everytime B gets a chance, he loves to tell everyone I'm a dyke. Then he says "vagina" repeatedly. Then he moves on to saying cock, penis, balls, and literally any variation and combination of these words. He waves a knife around (it's scarier when he's drunk, lmao) when he's talking. So I had to endure this while I was eating. This is just the way he is. I often ask his wife, one of my best friends, how she puts up with him all the time.
So, our waitress was really hot. One of my friends ordered a cherry coke, and she got like 4 or 5 cherries! I was like "aww you got cherries!" The waitress said "If you're good I'll get you a whole bowl of cherries," and winked at me! So when she left the table, B said to me, "she wants you to pop her lesbian cherry." OMG B. Then she kept calling me hun and sweetie, and every chance she got, she reached across me. Then when I said I would like desert, she perked up and made this face, very hard to explain, but it was like her face lit up.
Soooo we get our checks and everything, and B decides to write my name and number on the one she gets back. I was morified! I have never ever left a waitress my number, but omg. How embarrassing if she calls or something

So anyway, that's where I was all day. After we left Applebee's, we went back to B and his wife's house and played some games, and I just got home a little bit ago. I'm super tired, so I'll talk to you guys tomorrow =]

So What?
You know what? I'm kind of sick of everyone bashing the young generation that reads Twilight, and other books like it. You know why? Because I am proud and amazed that this generation is even reading at all!
I am certain that reading for entertainment skipped at least a generation or two. A lot of people who avidly read, are around my age. My two middle sisters hate to read. My youngest sister, loves to read! And it's all because of Twlight. That was the first book she ever read for entertainment, and now she reads all the time. She is slowly spreading her wings into other genres, but I am happy and proud that she's reading.
Just because they aren't reading Charles Dickens or Emily or Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen, does that make what they're doing any less worthy? Just because Twlight is over-popularized, cliche, and whatever else you hate about it, at least it's got young adults reading. As they get older, I'm sure they will start reading more refined material. It's almost like us, starting out reading The Babysitters Club, or Sweet Valley High. They got started a little late, but at least they're doing it.
So what if they're reading and fawning over Twilight? I say we should be proud of the younger generation, because as a writer, I want people reading.
