I have a co worker who is obsessed with peopleofwalmart.com. My first time frequenting this site was tonight, and I saw this picture:
I literally laughed, had tears in my eyes, and slapped my leg. I fell over laughing. As you may or may not see, this is an overweight woman, pushing a cart, with a baby hanging from her boob. In Walmart.
WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?!?!
Really, when you think about it, it’s not that funny.
So why can’t I stop laughing? I am so demented…
I just looked at my premium, and I need more credits!! I currently have enough to purchase 2 months….but I ONLY have 21 days to double my credits so I’m good for 6 months!!!!! OMG.
Because right now I’m being lazy, I’m pimpin it Dan Style today.
I was just thinking, sometimes you have a hard time in the bathroom…
I mean, if you’re in there for awhile, do you have reading material in there? Do you have a rack of magazines? Do you bring the newspaper in there with you? Do you have a book you read ONLY when you’re sitting on the toilet?!
So, Saturday night around here was pretty entertaining and amusing. It’s entertaining and amusing WHILE it’s happening. 2 controversies and drama in one night where everyone’s all riled up…sounds like a good time to me. C’mon…admit that you were entertained by it all…
But NOT for days afterward.
Please don’t write a post saying “I missed it! What happened?!?!?!” If you want to know what happened, GO READ THE POSTS PEOPLE. Everyone else gets kind of sick of re-counting the events and talking about it. Well, I know I do.
It’s also slightly annoying when people write response posts after the fact. But, everyone has an opinion, so I can’t bitch too much about that one. Really though, there’s only so many posts you can reply to and say “I so agree with you!” or “I disagree because….”
I’m just saying.
A few weeks ago, one of my co workers had a meeting with the Big Boss (the one that bought me the sample bottle of perfume) and told her that he didn’t want to be a lead anymore. There were several things that were bothering him, and one of them was his pay. There are people making more than him that aren’t even leads…that shouldn’t be making more. So she told him that she would look into it.
So she came to me today and told me that I would be going back to $14.00/hr. That’s what I WAS making, but with the 5% pay cut a while back, I went down to $13.30. I guess the leads aren’t supposed to make anything less than $14, so I really should never have received a pay cut. So in 2 weeks, my pay will go up again (and his pay will be bumped too). I think, since I should have been making that the whole time, they should retro pay me. I doubt that would happen, but I’m just saying, I think that would be the right thing to do.
Anyway, the other thing that happened is that I’m getting a promotion! Well, I don’t know if it’s technically a promotion, because there’s no second pay increase involved. Our customer (that we work in their building) asked that our company create a position, and I’m going to be the one filling it.
Basically I will be keeping track of rejected parts and getting them out of the building. We can’t get rid of these parts, however, until our customer gets us the information needed. So I’ll be the go-between for shipping and the customer, pretty much. I’m really excited to start this! I’ll be training in December, and I’ll start in January =]
I won’t be a lead anymore, but that’s perfectly fine with me!!

I have worked at 2 companies after graduating high school. Both companies have serious problems getting employees their yearly reviews in a timely fashion.
For example, I was supposed to receive my review in April this year. Now, all raises, bonuses, and 401K matches were suspended for the year of ’09. The only exception is if you got a promotion. But still, wouldn’t you like to see your review anyway, just to see where you’re at as far as being a good/bad employee? Things you can work on?
Anyway, I didn’t receive my review until about a month and a half ago, so in October. THAT’S SIX FUCKING MONTHS LATE!!!! Might as well wait until April ’10 for fuck’s sake. And trust me, I kept asking about it. My previous employer wasn’t quite so bad…I think it was 3 months late there.
I was just wondering if anyone else runs into this problem where they work. Since I don’t have much work experience as far as how many places I’ve worked, so to me it’s like every company is like this. Or is this the exception?! What the fuck.
It just came up today because there was an employee concerned that he was getting screwed out of PTO time because he should be getting more now that he’s been there longer, and he thinks they have their anniversary date wrong. So the topic of reviews came up today…so I’m just wondering if this is normal to wait so long to receive your review.
Well, in their defense, things have been really crazy lately. We switched over to a new software that royally fucked us over (if you have the cheapest form of SAP where you work, I feel for you!! IT SUCKS). Then we’ve had 2 temporary layoffs that lasted 5 weeks each, and this is our 3rd (only lasting 4 weeks this time…that’s why I’m on 1st shift right now…). But still, is all that really an excuse for not getting a review done?!
So one day, I was at work and one of my co workers kept complaining about how tired she was. She then said, “I’m taking a nap when I get home!”
To which I replied, “Oh yeah? Well, I’m taking a Mr. Bubble bubble bath when I get home!!”
She said, “I had that stuff when I was a kid. I got a UTI. It was NOT a good day for my vagina!”
I only bring this up because I just realized that I need to get some more Mr. Bubble bubble bath, because I am almost out.
So, a number of years ago, I discovered metal. As in music. And other music like it…industrial, darkwave, and other sub-genres. I started listening to bands like Cradle of Filth and the Birthday Massacre. I discovered I don’t really like bands where a male vocalist screams. I can handle female screamers, but not males…Hmm.
